What It Can Help With
Dermaplaning works on the surface of the skin, delivering results you can see and feel immediately after your first session. Here are the concerns it's most commonly used for.
Uneven Skin Texture
The treatment helps smooth rough areas on the surface of the skin for a more even-looking finish.
Dry and Dull Skin
Dead skin cell buildup is one of the main reasons skin looks flat and lifeless. Removing it instantly restores a brighter, healthier-looking complexion.
Unwanted Facial Hair
Dermaplaning removes vellus hair, commonly known as peach fuzz, along with dead skin in a single treatment. Hair will grow back, but it won't be any thicker or darker than before.
Fine Lines
Regular dermaplaning sessions can soften the visible appearance of fine lines over time by keeping the skin's surface consistently smooth and well-renewed.
Sun-Damaged Skin and Brown Spots
Removing the outermost layer of skin can help improve the appearance of mild sun damage and discoloration, supporting a more even-looking complexion with regular sessions.
Acne Scarring and Blemishes
Dermaplaning can help soften the appearance of superficial acne scarring and surface blemishes, making skin look more even and refined over a course of treatments.
Ideal For: All skin tones & types
Not Recommended For: Inflammatory acne · Eczema · Psoriasis · Skin growths · Open lesions · Those using photosensitising medications

Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade held at a precise angle to gently scrape away the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair. At FaBesthetics, the treatment can be followed with an enzyme application, which helps take advantage of the freshly exfoliated skin surface for better product penetration.
Sessions can be repeated every 3-4 weeks as the skin's natural cell turnover cycle renews. Regular dermaplaning helps maintain smooth texture, enhanced brightness and better absorption of your everyday skincare products.
Talk It Through With Becky1. Skin assessment and consultation
Before anything begins, we'll examine your skin to confirm dermaplaning is safe and appropriate for you. Your concerns and goals are discussed so the session can be tailored to your skin.
2. Cleanse and prep
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove all makeup, oil and surface debris. A degreasing solution may be applied to ensure a completely clean surface before the blade is used.
3. Dermaplaning
Using a sterile surgical blade held at a 45-degree angle, we carefully glide it across the skin in precise, controlled strokes.
4. Enzyme treatment application
After dermaplaning, an enzyme treatment is applied to the freshly exfoliated skin. With the outermost skin layers removed, the treatment is able to penetrate more deeply than it would on untreated skin, producing better results than enzyme application alone would achieve.
5. Finishing serum, hydrator and SPF
The session finishes with a soothing serum and hydrator to calm the skin and lock in moisture, followed by SPF to protect the newly exposed skin from sun sensitivity.

I absolutely love FaBesthetics! From my first appointment with Becky I have felt comfortable, confident, and amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. I have done laser hair removal treatments and most recently a Dermaplaning Facial. Everything is very clean and the environment is very relaxing and soothing! My skin feels absolutely amazing and clear and I actually have been able to leave the house without makeup. I haven't had the confidence to do that in over 20 years. I highly recommended Becky - she is absolutely amazing ❤️

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical blade to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair from the surface of the skin. No. Most people describe it as feeling like a gentle scratching sensation. There's no cutting or incision involved, and the treatment is generally easy to tolerate throughout.
No. This is a common concern but it's not accurate. Facial hair grows back as it was before, but it won't be any thicker or darker as a result of dermaplaning.
None. You can return to your normal routine immediately after your session. Some clients notice mild redness in the first few hours, which settles quickly.
Every 3 to 4 weeks is ideal for most clients, which aligns with the skin's natural cell turnover cycle. During your consultation, we'll give you a clearer recommendation based on your skin and goals.
Yes. Dermaplaning is a good alternative for people with extremely sensitive skin, redness, rosacea or visible facial veins who may not tolerate chemical peels or more aggressive exfoliation treatments.
Yes, though we recommend giving your skin a few hours before applying heavy makeup to allow it to settle. Freshly dermaplaned skin creates an excellent base for makeup, as it tends to go on more smoothly and last longer.
Dermaplaning is not recommended for clients with inflammatory acne, eczema, psoriasis, open wounds or lesions, moles or skin growths, or those currently taking isotretinoin and other photosensitising medications. We'll examine your skin before every session to confirm the treatment is safe for you.
Both are exfoliation treatments, but they work differently. Dermaplaning uses a blade to physically remove dead skin cells and vellus hair. Microdermabrasion uses a mechanical device to resurface the skin and is generally better suited to concerns like uneven tone, mild scarring and rough texture. Neither involves chemicals or downtime. During your consultation, we'll determine which is more suited to your skin.
